Where the Aerospace and Defense Jobs Are Right Now

  • Commercial aviation is hiring to catch up. Airlines want more planes, and the backlog is huge. Boeing and Airbus need people on the line, and so do their suppliers. If you build airframes, wire harnesses, or run quality checks, companies want you. Travel demand came back faster than the workforce did, so this gap is real and it will last a few years.
  • Defense spending keeps climbing. Budgets are up across the US and Europe. Programs need engineers for radar, missiles, and electronic warfare. A security clearance makes you hard to replace, so if you have one, use it. If you can get one, start now.
  • Space is past the hype and into production. Launch cadence is high, and satellite builders need steady hands. SpaceX, Rocket Lab, and a long list of smaller firms want structures, avionics, and propulsion talent. This is build work now, not just research.
  • MRO cannot find enough mechanics. Fleets are flying hard and aging. Shops need A&P mechanics, inspectors, and techs who know composites. Wages are rising because the shortage is bad. This is one of the fastest paths into a stable job.
  • Unmanned systems are growing fast. Drones for defense and commercial work need software, controls, and test engineers. The field rewards people who can move quickly and own a problem end to end.

Pick the lane that fits your skills. The demand is not slowing down.
