Aerospace and Defense Hiring: What We See Right Now
The market is moving fast, and the demand for people who build and maintain hardware has not slowed down. Here is what we are tracking this quarter.
- Commercial aviation is still clawing back capacity. Airlines want more planes, and the backlog at the big builders stretches out for years. That pulls hard on assembly, quality, and supply chain roles. If you can run a production line or fix a bottleneck, you have options.
- Defense budgets are funding real programs, not just studies. Munitions, missiles, and hypersonics are hiring systems engineers, test technicians, and program managers. Clearances matter more than ever. If you hold one, keep it active.
- Space has shifted from launch hype to steady work. Satellite constellations and ground stations need operators who can run missions day after day. The companies that survived the shakeout are the ones building hardware that flies.
- MRO is short on hands everywhere. The fleet is aging, and the people who fixed it are retiring. A&P mechanics, avionics techs, and overhaul specialists can write their own ticket right now.
- Unmanned and propulsion are where the new money goes. Drones, loitering systems, and next-generation engines need people who understand both software and metal. If you bridge those two worlds, you are rare and in demand.
Skills beat titles here. Show what you have built and tested. The hiring managers reading your resume want proof you can do the work.
