Aerospace and Defense Hiring: What We See Right Now

Here is where the jobs are and why. Read it straight, no fluff.

  • Commercial aviation is buying people again. Airlines and planemakers need to clear a long order backlog, and they cannot do it without more hands. Assembly, quality, and production planning roles are open across the big programs. If you can read a drawing and hold a schedule, you are in demand.
  • Defense is steady and growing. Governments are restocking missiles, munitions, and air defense gear. That pulls in systems engineers, test technicians, and program managers who can hold a clearance. Expect long projects and real job security here.
  • Space has moved past the hype. Launch cadence is up, and satellite builders are shipping real hardware on real deadlines. They want propulsion engineers, avionics folks, and operators who have touched flight hardware, not just slides.
  • MRO is short on skilled labor. Older fleets fly longer, so maintenance, repair, and overhaul shops need licensed mechanics and inspectors. Wages are climbing because the work cannot wait.
  • Unmanned systems keep pulling talent. Drones and autonomous platforms need software, controls, and flight test people who can move fast. Small teams, big responsibility, quick decisions.

The theme across all of it: companies want people who have built something and shipped it. Show the work, and you will find a seat.
